Tax Preparation Services
Whether you're an individual with a straight-forward tax return, an independent contractor with many deductions, or a small business wondering what's the best way to categorize your business expenses to minimize your tax liability, the team at Ken-Mar tax has been ensuring all our Cleveland area clients get the biggest tax refunds they deserve for many decades. Specializing in small business tax services and tax reduction strategies for the self-employed, we especially enjoy working with small businesses, real estate agents, contractors, and many Form 1099 Independent Contractors throughout the greater Cleveland area.
Enrolled Agents Thoroughly Understand the IRS Tax Code
Our clients avoid getting taxes prepared by those big name "churn and burn" tax preparation companies. When you look at what it takes to become a tax preparer with them, it's only 8 hours of paid training and to pass an in-house exam. And if you have trouble with your return, they can't call the IRS on your behalf (only a Tax Attorney, a CPA or an Enrolled Agent is allowed to represent you to the IRS).
As an Enrolled Agent Ken Weinberg has taken hundreds of hours of classes, passed a 3-part exam, the Special Enrollment Exam, or SEE - which lasts 3.5 hours for each section of the exam and maintains the Enrolled Agent status by acquiring 72 hours of additional education about tax codes every three years. As an Enrolled Agent Ken understand the multiple intricacies of the tax code and can confidently reduce our client’s taxable income by finding deductions their last accountant or tax preparer failed to consider. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before. EAs are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
If you think your last Accountant or Tax Preparation Professional didn’t catch all your tax deductions, or did something to your tax return that didn’t benefit you financially, Ken-Mar Tax will go back through your last filings, up to three years, free of charge. If you decide to re-file with corrections, the IRS allows you to amend returns for up to three years.
